First off , thanks to Skeetex for helping me find Tinypic .

The bird in the first pic is from last year .

I chose to shoot only one bird in the spring and none in the fall due to declining numbers , this spring on the other hand we are over run with Hens and Gobblers , where did all these turkey come from ??? I saw no indication of a hatch last year to speak of .

This bird was taken at 34 steps with Russel 11 ole 870 Remington that he sold me , using 2.5" 5/8 oz of # 9 shot , Thanks Russel this ole gun likes 5/8 oz with that poly on the end of it .

Nick, everyone knows you can't kill a turkey with #9 shot. Just ask Mike. Wink Gil

Your right Gil , one better not tell the turkeys that #9's are ineffective against them , I just might go hungry. .😉

I loved the one on the Big Bang Theory , where all of them were driving down the road , the car died came to a halt . Leonard ask all of the occupants in the car if anyone knew anything about internal combustion engines.

They all knew Everything about internal combustion engines that was to be known about that type of engine .

The next question was , did anyone know how to fix an internal combustion engine ???

All shook heads and said no.

Hmm that pretty well applies here don't you think ???

I love that every time this sort of thing comes up.

Regards. Nick

Well Mr. Hammack, very nice bird and glad to hear that the numbers in your neck of the woods are up.

Where I hunted in NE this year the numbers were noticeably down and we took the same tact and only shot one bird each.

Will be in touch when I can visit with you properly.

Hey Nick! You’ve changed cooks since the last time I laid eyes on you. I just might finally be able to keep pace with your long tall self across the prairie!

The only reason I got married is because I couldn't stand my own cooking anymore.

Great day!
Small shot does the job fine, with the right pattern, at realistic distance's.
My old time favorite duck load, was 7.5's WW factory lead.
