I’ve been looking for a 1620 with straight stock and single trigger, and finally scored. Actually, a member of this forum (Buck MN) contacted me with one to sell. I picked it up at my FFL today and will take it to the sporting clay range this weekend.
My question is whether there is a grace period before I have to start wearing tweed jackets and driving a Range Rover? |

No tweed required for single trigger guns- you’re safe. Congrats . |

Good news on the tweed, another reason to like the single trigger....
I’ve updated my signature , but will have to see about posting pictures here. |

Congratulations on your new 1620. It's on my bucket list, and I know the right one will come along someday, but yours must have found you judging on how quickly your search went. Well done. |

The action is very tight now. After closing the action, the cross bolt remains protruding about 1/4" from the left side of the action. I assume that this is just a tight action and not evidence of something wrong. I typically use a thicker grease type lube on my o/u guns, but I'm not sure that there is enough clearance for grease. What type of lubricant would you all recommend? |

Not tweed. This fine gun is German so leather bundhosen are required. And a jagdmesser in the thigh pocket. |

I would put grease on the hinge pin only and a high quality oil such as FP10 everywhere else.
