2.5 inches

And if you get it, I would suggest you use it for one year "as is" and then decide. They are quite effective.

AND if you want to use it for DUCKS, set it at IC and blast away.

Maybe this will help.

Pix taken of a poly on a remington model 11 16 ga.

You may or may not have desired bbl length left. I would suppose you would be
looking at CYLINDER constriction after removal ?

I like this idea from skeetx.

Good Luck.

Poly chokes and cutts comps are great dont cut until you decide that you just cant stand it.

Agreed. And something about that big knob at the end of the barrel inspires confidence in putting the muzzle on the target, especially for quick flushes in heavy brush.

Our 12 ga M12 has the ventilated version. But we never understood the purpose of the ventilated section, other than to get the attention of nearby shooters with its colossal muzzle blast.

Herters catalog once advertised a copycat version with the vents angled back toward the shooter, ostensibly to reduce recoil. That must have been a real ear ringer!

Must add the vent portion is easy to remove. And they really do work well. I had one put on a Ithaca 37 forty years ago and still have it. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.

LOVE my Polychokes. I suspect, however, that not all are the same. I have A5's with them for instance, that are pretty much identical guns. But shooting them side by side one time, I noticed that, all else equal, one shot better than the other. Consistently. It COULD have been me, but I think that it was simply that the chokes effected different patterns even though on the same settings.

That's not a knock: I just think that the owner has to do some patterning of his own to really know his Polychoke. I never have.

Also, you'll never lose your damn Skeet chokes for your Citori White Lightining, if they're permanently attached to your barrel and you can change from Skeet to Full with the twist of the wrist. Ask me how I know.
