I'll use this gun on clays simply for practice but it's an upland gun all the way. The vast majority of it's use will be in pursuit of grouse and woodcock. It should be arriving by Monday and my RSTs will be here Saturday. I'll break the news on whether I can shoot it or not when I find out! I'm confident I'll adjust quickly. I better.

I just bought a heavy Lefever FE 12 duck gun with 3" drop, and I plan on raising the comb and heel to 1.5/2.5 and the toe line to match. Yes, it will involve painting over the comb area and blending into the rest of the stock, but I see no point in suffering with too much drop unless it's a collectible in original condition that shouldn't be modified.

Just an update on this, obviously from my other post, I've received the gun. It's closer to 2 3/4 drop and fits like a glove. I thought for sure it would be 3" because that's typically what the sterly 28" came as....but I got lucky!

I haven't gotten to just clays with it yet but hoping to sling some in my buddy's field tomorrow evening.
