I want to replace the brass bead with a better front sight with out any modifications, any suggestions? when shooting trap the brass bead catches the sunlight and pulls my eyes off the bird. |

Removed the bead off my 525 and replaced it with a set screw flush with the rib. Have never missed it. Can’t remember the size/thread, but it’s not hard to find out with a quick search. |

The front bead is not hard to change out. I put black electrical tape around the barrel at the front and back of the bead and then along both sides to avoid nicking the rib. Then carefully twist off the bead with vice grips or electrician pliers. The new one goes on easy but you might want to use a drop of blue Loctite.
Check with Brownell's, they have a wide selection to choose from and a manufacturers thread chart. As I recall, Browning uses a 3-56 thread but please check. If you get one of those fiber optic sight kits they come a selection of the proper screws and go on very easy. If you get a Bradley style bead with a stud, you have to get a proper length shank (shorter is better) to get the bead in far enough to seat and index on the barrel. You might have to grind the end a bit to get it to fit. Watch out not to over tighten, this is a small screw and will break easily. Good Luck |

Try dulling it with a black marker or a drop of flat black paint. |
