Slightly OT but I shot 5 rounds of trap & skeet a couple days back and my cheekbone still smarts. Ok it was a 20ga, very light O/U that feels great in the hand and scores well, but a couple times it gave me a sharp upward whack on the cheek. And right now at this moment I might prefer going in for a root canal instead of more punishment from that little rascal.
Is it poor fit, poor mount, or both?

+1 My Rizzini slapped me in the face worse than any gun I have ever shot . I shoot it really well though, so I adjusted the pitch and the problem went away . |

So the toe might be too long relative to the heel, causing the gun to rise and bite the cheek? |

Measured pitch is about 2 1/4” at the muzzle of 26” barrel. My best fitting 16 ga has 1 3/4” at 26 in. So there it is, thanks. |
