Looked online yesterday to see if there were any deals on ammo @ cabelas. Quick search resulted in ZERO listings for herters shells in 16ga online. Went to my local store and bought a resealed case ( with 9 box’s) of 8’s. Bar code for the case @69.99 resulted in no hits. Bar code on an individual box gave the cashier no info so I suggested she take the case price -10%. ( the missing box) but she was clueless.
Manager did an over ride. They had 3 more cases of 7.5, I think I’ll go back for them as it seams like herters in 16ga may be dead. All together, I should have 1200 hulls for reloading once I shoot these up.
Anyone else have some input? Closest thing I can find is Remington @ $9/box. |

I found them, $69.99 for 1 oz and $ 79.99 for 1 1/8 oz. Doesn't sound like a deal though. |

A simple way to get them at your local Cabela's is to order them online for delivery to that store and they will be sitting there for you to pick up. No charge for shipping to the store. They often have free shipping anyway so just have them delivered to your home.
Academy Sports carries R-P Game loads for $7.99/box with free shipping. The Herters loads are a better deal even at the full price of $69.99/case. I am still reloading the seven flats that I bought a couple years back when they were selling them for $59.99/case. |

How do you order them when they can’t be located on the website? |

Your question caused me to check the Cabelas website before i replied and yes they do have the Herter's Dove and Quail loads in 16ga. 1oz loads of 6 or 8 shot for $69.99/case. The 11/8oz loads of 71/2 are $79.99/case
And that is in 16ga. The 12ga and 20ga loads are only 59.99/case
If you are looking in the target load section you won't find any 16ga listings. |

I type in Herters 16 in the search block. Choices come right up. |

I have shot a flat or two of Herters no. 8 and have another on the shelf, but I must be an outlier in this group because I just don't like them for clay targets - I might as well be shooting sand at the targets. They won't break especially the non toxic targets in cold weather, too many dusters. I do appreciate the nice hulls for reloading however.
It's probably just me, but I won't be ordering any more of them, price and convenience notwithstanding. My 1 oz #7 1/2 reloads are way better. They pulverize the targets.

That's interesting. Perhaps they just don't shoot well in your particular gun. I've had no issues whatsoever with them. |

moot pts here in NY . Cabelas won't even send them to their Buffalo store to pick up which is 80 miles away . Nobody else I've seen in this part of the state carries them ... If it was Gamalleils etc , The sticky wicket is to have them sent to an FFL , alla a gun . However , this could endanger said FFL as the SAFE act is still in limbo !! EGADS |

Just ordered 4 boxes of 16 ga. #8 shot from Cabelas today. I use them in my NSTRA field trials where we are shooting bobwhite quail. They have always worked well. I would prefer the Federal 1 oz. Game Loads but they have become extremely difficult to find in my area. |
