farm looks good. couple trees down that wont effect the shoot. road isnt washed out. no lightning strikes and machines are all running. lights came on for the night shooting. heat and water are all secure.
guess that means....its gonna happen.
bush hogged down range to help see those birds fly. wife is shopping for the groceries for the pot luck. shes making her lasagna and enchilada casserole this time.

had a little free time so i popped down to twin lakes ark to shoot with the r&g club. had a blast. went over to visit rover gun club in mo. shot up some 49 year old green RXP skeet loads out the m12. boxes were falling apart but fired like they were just made. i bought them about 15 years ago at bend in river gun club, tn. the old owner had them on a dusty shelf, so i gave him a sale. felt bad not shooting much, so i made up for it buying some inventory. fields are starting to green up here. rabbits are out. sheep dogs are barking at the buzzards when they swoop low. no copperheads spotted yet. wifes happy. im happy. soon we get to share it with my guests. hope to see some new faces and new guns on the range. my local student shot her first 25 straight in skeet while i was gone. odds are, she may win the apr meet. she came in 2nd in oct. got a father getting back into shotgunning after a 30 year layover.
my go to man who always pulls and scores had a heart attack while i was gone. he bought a ticket and squaded back in nov. he may or may not come now. if he does...well, guess who will shoot for him at the 50? hes waiting for dr. orders on shooting. but still...quad bypass aint nothing to fool around with. i may limit him to his favorite chair for the meet. now excuse me, i gotta mend some fence and put up no hunting signs on the fence line.

for all you guys planning to come sat afternoon, you may want to rethink it. heavy rain forecast sat afternoon. friday is sunny. sat morn is clearer than the afternoon. get the shooting done early folks.

You're making me wonder about my decision to tow my trailer up there. All I need is to get that sucker buried to the axles in mud to finish off the weekend. Looking at options, but I'll be there.

just park further near the uphill fence on camp 1. the road in will support weight.
turn the trailer around while its nice, so when you hitch to leave, just go.
if you dont need power or water, might even take a spot closer to the gate.
one way or another, you wont bury it. no one has yet. brian only had a 1/2 ton 2WD. he struggled. if you got 4WD... walk in the park.
bring strong-back blocks to level the rig. if you need some, i got some.

I did some research today and found an RV park in Mountain Grove that said they will have spots available if needed. I'll stick with using your RV spots with a backup of moving to Mountain Grove if the heavens open up too badly. It is only 18 miles from your place, so not a bad commute if needed. I've got the levelling blocks onboard. My tow vehicle is a Ford F-150 with the twin turbo Ecoboost, 4 wheel drive and an E-locker rear end. Pretty confident if anyone can make it out, I'll be able to.

last time it mudded up was in 90% chance with thunderstorms with rain coming down friday as people came in.
frday will be dry. it should drain off good.
again, my road in aint an issue. just trying to jockey around in rain is what muds it up. back, forth, turn, spin, reverse forward...that stuff.

i think youll be ok. just me. the whole range lot is grass-topsoil-on gravel near camp 1. get in, set up, set up for a one shot launch on sat night or sunday morn.
camp one is better than where brian got mudded in. he set up in front of the slope near the clubhouse. camp one is higher ground.
btw, brian goes to club 60 with his camper sat night....then heads out. fyi.

to give viewers a time line for sat....
pot luck goes to 1pm.
then its quick picture time.
then 1pm squads,
then annie oakley.
then turkey cards.
then 50yd shoot off.
ceremonies

if we can somehow get the 10am sat squad shot on friday, and 1pm squads for sat come early, we can move everything up and have the annie/turkey/50yd/ceremonies done before 4pm...when the sky is suppose to open up on us.
i can move the seating at club60 up to 6pm from 7pm.
this would give most time to pack up and clean up prior to the rain, and be on our way to town nlt 5pm.

lets see what happens.

Unless we can shoot at 2200 Friday night, I will not be able to shoot until Saturday morning due to work.
I shot skeet all day in the rain at Tulsa a couple weeks back so i know it can be done. When i shot in February it was frozen and spitting snow.
My dog will be staying home where she will have plenty of cover with the shed, her doghouse and the front porch.
