Stopped by Tuttles Guns www.tuttlesgunstore.com yesterday in Enumclaw to look at Creedmoors and counted fourteen 16 ga guns on the rack. The M37s previously seen were gone but there are single shots and SxS including Fox BTS (Sav 311?) $650 and an interesting JC Higgins 101.7 $400 which had dark highly figured wood with a very clean finish.

I’m going back to -maybe- close out on a 6.5CM so PM me if you want photos.

A Higgins boat is 36' 3" according to https://cs.stanford.edu/people/eroberts/courses/ww2/projects/fighting-vehicles/higgins-boat.htm And it's half wood and half steel just like a shotgun. Dad landed on the beach at Iwo Jima in one of them.

A JC Higgins 101.7 shotgun is supposedly a Stevens 311A but the wood doesn't look like any Stevens I ever saw. Its highly figured and finished with a hard glossy dark varnish or poly...not sure what it is.
