Quick question, is Win 540MS powder the same thing as Win 540 ??? |

No, but close, the 540 has 1.75 % flame deterrent
They do have the same gravimetric density.
540 has a slightly faster burn rate.
How much MS do you have??

Thanks Mike. That was a good read linked there. My Goober search didn't find that one.
I don't have any 540MS but many pounds of unopened 540 which I (sadly) have inherited. What I also have is an old family recipe for a turkey-shoot load from the sixties using 540MS in low-base/high-brass W-W hulls. I have everything except the powder. Thinking to try the light charge with 540 and see how it patterns and the velocity.

I have load manuals with the newer 540, but thanks for offering. Just trying to recreate the old turkey load for nostalgia sake. |
