Hunted SoDak through Thanksgiving. Bird numbers definitely down, but birds still there. Many fields never planted, just grew up in weeds, that doesn't help hunting alone with a dog. Hard to compete, was also nice out, birds roosted in that, ran around all day in that.
Managed to kill 8 birds with two lost in wetlands that me nor dog could get to, my fault for shooting them over it, ice wouldn't hold me or dog, So I found out.
Had one snow day, just a skiff, but could track birds and dog just ate them up, so did I. Good day.
Used the New Sweet 16ga for all, and doses of Federal Hi velocity #5's
ate some this afternoon for lunch... |
