I was at the Cabelas in Allen, Texas yesterday. They had several cases of Herter's 16 gauge shells available.
There were about 7 cases of 1 oz. 6's still there when I left, plus some individual boxes. There were also about 15 boxes of 1 oz. 8's available. Sorry, but I bought the rest of the cases of 1 oz. 8's.
The trick is that the cases are marked at $69.99 and will scan that way. The boxes however are marked $4.88. So I asked the guy running the ammo area (I think it was Harry) if that was correct. He opened one case and confirmed that it scanned as the individual box price of $4.88 and that would be correct. He said to explain that to the person at the register and call him if necessary. They rang it up as boxes and gave me the lower price.

Hopefully someone here can put the remaining 7 cases to use. |
