I asked this on another thread, but it was too far off topic for that one, so I’m asking here. I wonder if anyone can refer me to a good read to learn some about the different Browning A5 versions through the years that were chambered in 16 ga.
I understand that there were early era models which had options for bbl and grade, but were generally the same standard configuration. Then at some point later, the Sweet 16 was developed and marketed, while another version chambered in 16 as well was also marketed. Were they very much different? Did this continue for some time? I understand that there are safety variations but do not know what they all are or their vintage. I also know that some years saw English style straight grip stocks but do not know the periods and models this was offered. I also understand that the 2.75” chamber lengths have not always been offered in the 16ga line, but when they started I do not know. Also I saw something about a factory upgrade or some kind of retrofit part to bbl that takes a pre-2.75” chamber to a modern 2.75” chamber dimension. What’s that?

So, all this because I have an interest in adding another auto to the family, want it to be 16ga, and have always heard good things about the A5 16’s. I’m mainly interested in original model 16’s even though I’ve heard good things about the new SW16.
