Well our snowpack has finally receded enough to get up to the higher elevations in Wyoming, so Rusty and I have begun our acclimation and conditioning for Himalayan snowcock hunting this fall. We would do it anyway, it's a lot of fun and there a trout in those lakes...enjoy the photos.

How does Rusty handle the fishing? My GSP Bode thought it was retrieving practice every time I cast when he was a pup. He couldn't seem to grasp the concept of it being a spectator sport the only time I tried it with him. Really nice pictures again by the way.

Rusty thought that the first time too, but a few rounds of me telling him "No" was all it took to cure it. He sits, intently focused, wanting to grab the fish when it comes in. He's all good unless I swing one right in front of his face then he tries to grab it with his mouth, but never has bitten down on one.

I actually though the Himalayan Snowcock was a joke until I snooped on google.

Nice pictures as always, Wyo.

Dave Erickson,

I agree WyoChukar always has some great pictures, especially of his dog! WyoChukar if I was 25 years younger I would come join you on your hunt! Shooting a Snow Cock would be quite a mile stone in my bird hunting life.

Hey Wyo, you look like you been spending a lot of time outside already! When will those lakes be melted enough to fish?

This week... I think...I hope. The peaks are supposed to see snow the morning of Independence Day, but just scattered stuff. Of course, I have been caught in blizzards up there this time of year.
