I bought a 16 Ga. Citori from a member here, several years back. I liked the shotgun well enough but it really didn't fit me well, it needed some cast-off.

Sent it off to Tronspace for an adjustable comb. Probably not what most folks would want, but I don't want to look at it, I want to hit with it.

Got it back, got the comb where I want it and I can hit pretty consistent with it.....so for the 2019 hunting season (and the rest of the Sporting Clay events) I will be shooting a 16 gauge Citori.

What are you folks shooting this coming hunting season?

I use a different gun every dove outing

Will probably start this year with a Tristar Brittany in 410

Finished last season with the Sauer hammer gun. The Ugartechea Parker Hale got bumped as my go to choice since I got the Sauer, but it still fits me as good as any gun I have.

Dove opens soon, and the Ithaca 37 with a polychoke is always handy in the dove field. Choices, choices...

Leaving in about 10 minutes for the teal opener in Iowa. I will be using a Savage 720 in 16 gauge. Opened the choke from full to modified to enable me to use steel shot.

Jean Breuil French 16 boxlock - pheasant and grouse
Simson 12 boxlock - pheasant and maybe grouse
Parker Trojan 20 - grouse, maybe pheasant (I almost never encounter woodcock)
BUHAG Suhl 16x16x 8x57R drilling - upland and deer during November.
Belgian 16 hammergun - whatever
Dunno what for hares - whatever I'm carrying, I guess.
CZ 452 American LH + 6-24x scope - squirrel, if I'm feeling like chasing bushytails

Opening day grouse today, Chester and I hit the mountains with M12 16ga 2 1/2”. Very dry and the birds were elsewhere, probably down lower near wetlands.

Both of us were a step slower than last season but we completed the climb circuit and are ready for more.

Cheers

Same as always: A.H. Fox A grade 16ga, backed up by Fox Sterlingworth 16ga or occasionally Parker Trojan 16ga, and Stevens 5100 16ga if it's raining (although I rarely hunt in the rain).

F2F,

Man...your guns are OLD...I'll let you trade with me and you can try some repeaters...I'll suffer by with your tired old SxS guns...it will be rough, but I'll make the sacrifice so you can move into the modern age.

😁

I have a pair of 16 gauge SxS's with 30" barrels that will see action on grouse & pheasants (Iside & AyA)

My shorty SW16 will also be used (mostly grouse) along with my old 16 gauge Remington 11. I've taken birds with the Rem. 11 over three of my dogs, and it will give its 4th dog some work this year.

I also hunt with a handful of 12 gauge guns, mostly waterfowl and some out of state pheasants.

I have a new 525 16 to pair with my 12 gauge 525. I will do about everything upland with those two this year.
