A hunting buddy and I spent this past weekend chasing KS bobs. Saturday was in the mid 30s with a 20-25 mph wind. Not ideal hunting conditions in the CRP but better in river bottoms. Only moved three coveys and saw a lot of pheasant, at least their heels and tails as they were running and flushing well out of range. I am convinced that a phez can outrun a well conditioned pointing dog. Sunday's weather was ideal and we were fortunate enough to move seven coveys in about four hours. On the other hand, our shooting was pathetic. Here's the result of one a successful shot with the Merkel 1620.
