Hey guys,
I a have an older Ithaca double coming soon. Its serial number is in the 379xxx range, so I am pretty sure it will come with short chambers.
I am good with this and want to reload 2 1/2" shells for it. I can't seem to find anyone with Cheddite hulls in stock. Any ideas on another source? BPI, Grafts,Precision, OOS
If I cant find them in stock I guess I could go with buying a flat of shells from RST, but they are kind of expensive on the shipping.
First world problem I know.
Thanks in advance! |

You could buy 2 3/4” and trim them down. |

Stack 16 has gob's and gob's of RGL hulls I think he will sell a few off .
I use byrdogs trimmer to cut down and roll crimp , get at least half a dozen loads with the roll crimp and a dozen out of many more .
Works great for a roll crimp hull , not as good for a fold crimp hull , shoot them as much as you can at 2.75" cut them down and use them for 2.5" to get some more use from them.

I reload 2 1/2" shells exclusively and haven't bought 2 1/2" hulls for years. Obtain new or once-fired 2 3/4" hulls and cut them down with Byrdog cutter. A couple hundred will take well under an hour. Don't bother trying other cutters, Byrdog's works great.
Recommend any Cheddite type hull inc Rio, many load & wad combos. And they take several firings. Take due caution for loose base wads.
Rems are limited to Rem wads and as said above, a couple firings of fold crimps and they are done.
Good luck
