I have been rather absent here, but that's not unusual during hunting season. A lot has happened. Visitors from out of state, some of whom I will be catching up to soon, have been welcome.
Hunting season has been hit and miss. Dove hunting was pathetic. Sage grouse was great. Blue grouse has been great, but only in certain spots. Weather has pretty well cancelled my Utah ptarmigan hopes and I didn't go back for more snowcock hunting in Nevada last week either when the hunter I was meeting got totally worn out after one day and went home!
Duck hunting was great during the first split and a few geese fell victim to a Baker 16. That Baker gave me my best snipe performance of all time: 8 snipe for 10 shells. A few ruffed grouse came to hand. Chukars and huns are terribly scarce this year in central Wyoming, but I have enjoyed some productive hunts right where I grew up; it has been the one bright spot.
Gun projects are moving ahead. The 20 ga. Nitro Special is getting wood refinishing right now and the Parker 10 is undergoing transformation. The Baker, ironically is going to a new home. I hunted hard with it after fixing plenty of issues and completing the barrel work. A friend's Dad has always wanted a Baker 16 (his last name is Baker) and I agreed to sell it before putting it through 2 weeks constant use. The gun and I are a perfect match and I will miss it, but I am true to my word. I can always get another one. I still have my eye on something far more scarce though. Sorry, no hints until that day comes!
Anyway, rather than continue on and on, I will treat everybody to a montage of recent photos. Enjoy!

Great pics! Sounds like awesome times.
I love the pic of your dog, what kind is he?
Not pretty, just ruggedly hansome, like your truck! |

WyoChukar,
Thanks for the great pictures and I can see why you will miss the Baker Gun, real cool 16 gauge double gun. Real nice restoration job for sure. Great picture of Rusty also, take good care of him.

Wonderful photos. Thanks for sharing. Looks a bit more physically demanding than sitting on a stool shooting Eurasians at the grain silos!! |

It’s not good form to display jealousy, so I’ll just say way to go Wyo! Hope I don’t get too old to do those things before I can. |
