I know this might turn the stomachs of some of the traditionalists. I purchased this Remington 1100 16 gauge in early October. The stock had been shortened and it had some pretty bad rust pitting. So I ordered a synthetic stock & had the steel sanded and coated in Cerakote. Burnt bronze and black. I think it turned out nice. I especially like that I had the rib and receiver top coated black.
I already have a like new 1967 16 gauge 1100 so don’t give me too much hate.

Love it.

Where did you get the stock? Who did the Cerakote?

Infectious Design in North Carolina did the Cerakote. Got the stock from Optics Planet.

Somebeach,

Thanks, you have given me an idea for an 870 that I have.

Should make a decent duck gun set up like that. How’s it choked?

Looks sharp, very creative. IMO, I think it is hard to get that deep blue back.

Nice job.

Regards,
Chuck

Really like the look. that turned out great. I've done a similar set up on a A5 sweet with Japanese invector barrel for duck hunting. thanks for sharing.

I live in Mooresville between Charlotte & Boone. Gun has a modified choked barrel. Not many quail in NC anymore. I plan to use it dove & rabbit hunting. And for pest control on crows. Can’t stand the taste of duck or goose...so nope.

SomeBeach,

I am the most traditional guy you will ever encounter, the gun looks great! Fantastic restoration job. It is a shame you are not a Duck hunter, as EmtyMag said the perfect Duck gun does now exist, man what a Woodie Gun. Even an old L.C. Smith man like myself can appreciate a great restoration job, on a Duck Gun.

Welcome to the 16 forum.
