No, it's just to much of a load for my 16 gauge guns. It's really more than I shoot in my 12 gauge guns. In those a 1200 fps 1.25 oz. load of hard 5's is more than enough.

I hear ya.

My wife just saw the pre order bill on the credit card for my BOSS shot...

I’m too young to have grown up shooting lead but I’m seriously impressed by those shells.

The “new” 25 round count boxes of Kent bismuth are a darn fine load and I can buy them locally in 12ga.

And I thought OOF-DA was a MN saying...

My wife, inlaws, and most of my family are from MN. Dad was full blooded Norweigian and we ate lutefisk every Christmas Eve. There's a lot of Ooof-da in me.

I've got a hundred of the Boss 5's for my 16 gauge Rem. 11, and I'm shooting Kent bismuth in my 12's this year. I can not wait for duck season! I was just looking for a new face mask today.

I checked out the boxes I've picked up over the years, looks like a couple of heavies are included. Oddly, the older box listing plastic hulls actually contains paper hulls marked similarly with Magnum and 1 1/4oz #4 on them. Might have to shoot one or two through my Auto-5 with the rings set on "heavy".

I had a lot of success on pheasants with those Superx MK5 over the years shooting up Dads leftovers, both 16 and 12's,both in 1 1/8oz of 6's. I'm down to 2 rds of the 12 ga version. Sad

My dad shot the same load, but always Remington Express. Always Remington rifle ammo for his .348, too. Not sure why and I never asked him.

I've used the 1 1/4 oz. 1260 fps #4 win. and federal loads on pheasants over Springers. Very effective, recoil was stout, but tolerable. I wish this load was still available. The trend seems to be crazy high velocities for lead upland loads these days, but I doubt there's any actual science behind it. No thanks.

I'm one of them old guys that cut my teeth on lead growing up. Never used anything else. Won't use anything else. Never had a problem with kills. Heaviest shot I've ever used is 5's. I still have plenty of 5's left of actives 16's.
South America is a big user of actives shells. Fellow shooter I know goes to Argentina every year for doves. They furnish guns & ammo plus some one keeps your guns loaded. He said it's nothing to shoot 1000 doves before noon lunch. Then go back out 2 hrs. later and shoot 1000 more. Don't see lead hurting the population down their.

Emptymag,

RE 16 ga 1-1/4 ounce ammo sitting on your dealer’s self, could you identify the dealer - perhaps they will sell and ship a couple boxes to me.

B&P have recently added a 32g (1 1/Cool and a 36g (1 1/4) load to their 16ga range. I don't know if their American branch loads the same offering.

Looks like some pheasant loads in here.....

I'm with Dave, rarely do I shoot more than 1oz.

Even in Bismuth, for waterfowl.

No connection to this listing, found it while surfing.

check the fine print, shipping might be hefty.

Plus a 18% buyers premium.
What would the velocity be of the one box of 1 1/8 Xperts at 2 3/4 dram? 1185?
