What would the velocity be of the one box of 1 1/8 Xperts at 2 3/4 dram? 1185?

That sounds right. Nice load.
For pheasants I've been very happy with B&P F2 #5's. |

Mid season recap & request -
My preferred load of 1-1/4 ounce of 4-shot factory ammo just doesn’t exist in my area (60 mile radius of Boston).
It seemed that just a year ago I was encountering case lots, but at the time I thought that was more than I wanted - now if I encountered a case lot of 1-1/4 ounce 4’s I’d jump on it.
What is frustrating is several members of the 16 GA Society have sent me pictures of inventory of same sitting on dealer’s shelves, but either I can’t find them, or the dealer doesn’t do mail order, or worse won’t ship to Massachusetts.
I know some of you are gagging at the thought of 1-1/4 ounce loads but I like them, and they function well though my New A5 Sweet 16 - there is no noticeable difference in recoil. However I haven’t dare fire them through my other fixed-breech 16s.
SO, I’m making an appeal - if anyone encounters 1-1/4 ounce 4-shot factory loads could you either buy & ship them to me (I will reimburse you, plus a modest gratitude amount). OR, put me in contact with a dealer who will sell & ship up to a case.
I will provide my contact information upon request, and I thank you in advance for your consideration. |

PS -
RE handloading, yes I handload but, in this case, not very well. I’ve had difficulty figuring out which wad to use or which wad configuration is best - my handloads look like a ‘hand rolled’ cigarette. |

Byron-
That’s terrific news !!!!!!!
The only glitch is the forum site says that I don’t have any new messages, it must be that I am doing something wrong.
Please either send another PM, or email me at w_j_k@hotmail.com |

I continue in my quest to find an inventory of Federal Premium Upland 16 GA 1-1/4 ounce of 4-shot ammunition (see Emtmag’s posting on 9 July for photo) of 18 boxes NOS sitting a shelf in a Runnings store somewhere in central MN.
This may sound silly to some of you, but this specific ammo is unobtainable where I live (on the north shore of Boston, MA), and I’d like to have a quantity on hand.
One 16 GA society member was fantastic enough to sell me two full boxes he happen to have, but I’d like to have more.
BTW Runnings doesn’t ship, and without the product code (I’m guessing something like P?16?4) their product manager couldn’t tell me in which one of their stores this ammo is.
So !, if one of you knows where this ammo is and would be willing to buy and ship it to me - I will forward the money before hand (cost of the ammo, guesstimated shipping, plus a 20% gratuity) and would be very grateful.
I’m looking for a minimum of 2 boxes, preferably 4, heck I’d be willing to buy a case of it if need be.
And I know some of you are saying hand load it, well my hand loading ain’t that great.
So can somebody help me out ? |

Bill, I sent you a pm a week or 2 ago.
I’ll see if I can track some down yet. If I buy some at least I’ll have it in my possession and I can work on the shipping at a later date.
My only problem is getting it to you. Anyone in the west metro of Minneapolis ever ship ammo? |

I did receive a PM a couple weeks back.
Shipping ammo isn’t a problem via UPS, in my area I prefer to go to the UPS area hub rather than the UPS store front - depending, the people in the store fronts might get a bit yancy when it comes to ammo.
Then again I’ve had people mail ammo and guns to me - although my local post office said no way.
Shipping can be upwards of $10 bucks a box, of course you’ll need to put the ammo in a appropriate size box, and they might stick some stickers on it.
I realize that my request is a pain in the butt, but the odds are really stacked against 16 GA shooters in my area (north of Boston, MA - in fact within 150 miles of where I live, it’s pretty pitiful).
So all I can say is thank you - and I owe a favor to whoever accommodates me.
This all started with a cool Sterlingworth double I found in my friend’s rack - and now I own 5 16s |

PS about Runnings -
They have a strict policy against shipping
None of their franchises (anywhere near me) show that load on their website
I talked with Tyler Gassette - their (Runnings) guns & ammo manager, he’s a nice guy. But with out a product code he can’t tell me where those heavy loads are - so I have tried.
I hope you shooters in the mid west realize how good you’ve got it.
I’m fairly motivated to find products that I want, most people who have an interest I wanting to try a 16 would have given up along time ago.
Here I the northeast it’s like they’re trying to snuff out interest in the shooting sports.
And a lot of people working retail in gun departments are dumber than dumb can be in terms of product knowledge - no offense meant to anyone |

Happy holidays Bill K!
These are sitting on my kitchen counter, for now. UPS depot is the next town over 15 miles away. I’ll see what I can do. It might be a few weeks.
