This gun has had a total expert restoration included new wood . This is one of the best restored guns I have every seen. It has beautifully figured American Walnut wood with perfectly executed border less checkering . The forearm is what I would call a very small semi beaver tail . Superbly done case colors and rust bluing. All screws are perfect .
Extremely strong action with double under lug and third Greener style cross bolt fastener . Lock up is tight with forearm on or off .
It has a couple (2) very slight blemishes in bluing on the barrels and one slight spot on the stock at the top tang . I tried to show these in the photos .

LOP 14 1/2" or 14 1/4" depending on which recoil pad is installed
DAC 1 3/8" DAH 2 1/8" with some cast off for Rt hand shooter
Barrels : 2 3/4" chambers 29 5/8" long
Bore dia . Rt .662 , Lt .661
Chokes . Rt .005 , Lt .019
Weight 6lbs 11.5oz gun balances beautifully between the hands

I'm not sure what you're asking. It sounds like the gun is fitted for a shorter and longer pad. Then again I often surprise myself on how dense I can be.

Thank guys for all the kind comments . I have had this gun for about three years , as much as really like it , it just doesn't fit me well and I can't shoot it a well as some of my other guns.
Little Creek , I'm afraid I don't understand your question either . If there something else you would like to see let me know .
Savage , I have no clue about a model number for this gun. I am sure it is pre world war 2 .
This is a very high quality gun with a very strong action ( capable of handling modern ammo ) that has had some wonderful restoration work done to it . The stock work alone would be more than what I am asking for it . |
