Good afternoon,
I am happy to share with community the purchase of my new 525 sweet 16 NIB, so great, can wait to take it to filed.
Just asking if anyone could recommend placed where I can get nice browning used hulls or even new one as I am planning to do the loading myself.
Another question, it seems rare to see cleaning kit for sweet 16, does anyone know or are used to placed to get these.
I am also interested in mould maker for 16 GA.
if anyone has answers please dot hesitate to shoot me an answer.
Thank you |

I buy Remington Field 8s for my 525 Sporting. They reload just like Gun Clubs.

rkittine,
Not sure of your response.
RGL's aren't like Gun Clubs.....Gun Clubs aren't even made in 16.....unless this is something very new. |

I didn't say that Gun Clubs are made in 16 gauge, just that the Remington Field and Game in 16 gauge are the same KIND of hull and reload as well. I have never tried Browning Hulls. I have thousands of Remingtons though.

rkittine,
I am really confused.
Remington makes one style of 16 ga. hull and it isn't a one piece hull, as far as I know.
The 12 ga. hulls you are referring to are 1 piece hulls.
Not trying to be a jerk, I just can't figure out what you are referring to. |

And you load 16 gauge on a 16 gauge press and 12 on a 12 gauge press. Not saying that they are the same. All I am saying is that the Remington Field and Game in 16 gauge load as EASILY as the Gun Clubs in 12 and 20 do regardless of the base wad configuration. 8 point crimp etc. I have not had as consistent reloading results (end physical load) with other hulls in 16 gauge.
Sorry if I wasn't clear. No matter what 16 gauge ammo I buy, I only reload the Remington F&G. I also reload them as 1 1/16 ounce No. 9 s for shooting skeet.
What I was getting at, was that in my opinion, it would be easier to find once shot Remington Hulls in 16 gauge than Brownings.

Once this is over, we should do some shooting at my home club. Maidstone Gun Club in East Hampton. The gun club is on East Hampton Township land adjacent to the airport and I keep a plane there, so I would be happy to fly over and pick you up for a day of shooting after this is all over.
Back in the day I used to drive to CT and shoot at Lordship, Remington's club every week, when it was still open. When I lived down town Chicago I shot at Lincoln Park until they closed that too.
Now a days, depending where I am, I shoot at Maidstone, Peconic River, Brookhaven, Thunder Mountain or Monroe.

rkittine,
Do you ever shoot with the CT Travelers?
If you aren't familiar........It is a group that started in CT in 1987, but we probably have more members from NY than from any other state. It is a big group that shoots in NY (mostly), CT and RI. We shoot every third Sunday, year round. All NSCA registered targets and definitely not skeet in the woods. Typically there are about 100 to 125 shooters at an event.
We shoot at some very nice clubs in the Hudson Valley. |

rkittine,
I used to be a trap fanatic, back in the 1990's, but I made it into work and lost the fun part.
Now I shoot almost all Sporting and FITASC, with a little skeet now and then with my son. I am no stranger to a skeet field, as I had shot in winter skeet leagues for several years.
Haven't shot a round of trap in who knows when, but not against it! But since I shoot an 1100 - 16 ga. the guy next to me might not be happy!
Somewhere I have a shell catcher for it. |

Congratulations on your acquisition of an excellent 16 ga shotgun, you will be delighted with it, as it is ideal for a wide range of uses at the range and in the field.
Regarding your ammunition, I suggest that you first purchase 10 boxes or so of high quality loaded ammo such as Browning, Winchester, Federal, RST, etc. with No. 7 1/2 lead shot, and save the hulls for reloading later. The value of the hulls will somewhat offset the cost of loaded shells. You will also benefit by becoming familiar with the performance of a consistent load which is very important for improving your shooting skills.
I purposely omitted Remington which is excellent quality ammo but the hull has fewer reloading options than the other brands.
You can order ammo online from Cabelas or go to ammoseek.com to see your choices. One word of caution, some of the suppliers listed at ammoseek will not have your item in stock but will accept your payment anyway.
If you are unable to order ammo online in your home state, simply visit your local gun shop and they will be happy to order it for you for a very modest fee and no risk of losing your funds.
Keep us posted on your progress,
Good Shooting
