Not a 16ga but 12ga. Solid rib, 1926. I couldn’t resist.

It’s choked modified. I shot some patterns with #5 bismuth and lead at 30 yards and it was around 72-73%. It didn’t eject the first 2 rounds it was so dry. Local gun shop owner that sold it to me said another elderly local guy owned it and it’s been sitting for awhile. I lubed it up good and it ran fine after that. It had the friction rings in wrong so I changed them around too. I ordered the auto 5 screw driver set from brownells as it really needs a deep cleaning.
I do know it looks good sitting next to the 1960 superposed I bought last year.
Me being 34 years old the local guy at the gun shop likes when I buy and use these older guns. With a young family I’m on a kinda tight budget but boy they don’t build them like they use to some gettem when I can. |

Nice shotgun. A 16 ga. A-5 of that era would have had a 2 9/16 chamber which is what my 1923 measures.
I'm with you in resurrecting older forgotten guns. |

Hope you get a lot of pleasure from it, Emtymag. I have several A5s, great guns.
You might want to double check that YOM, though. I would bet it's a 50s era gun. |

That’s the plan. Maybe a pheasant or 2 and possibly doves. |

Oh boy, I need to add to the 16ga stable first. Bid on an older 870 Wingmaster choked full with corn cob forearm the other day but lost track of time and was out bid. Too bad as it would have perfectly matched my grandpas 870 Wingmaster that I inherited when he passed. |

Is that an L C Smith? Been looking for a 16 hammer gun, for awhile. Haven’t really haven’t had much luck with the 16 gauge that the bores are good. Unless you wanna spend 8 grand. |

Is there a letter preceding it? Perhaps a "H", "L", "M" or "G"? |
