Looking for a 16 gauge roll crimper. Would prefer an antique hand crank one made in America, but open to others also. Please send me a pic and pm with price. Thanks fellas. |

I did see that one, but it’s in Russia. May not have a choice but order it and wait for 3 weeks. |

I have found while manual roll crimpers work, I like my cheap harbor freight drill press with Gaep head. Decent roll crimpers are available from precision reloading and on eBay time to time.
I also have piled up a collection of roll crimpers from eBay over the years. Play with 16 gauge long enough and you will accumulate A pile of miscellaneous stuff. |

Old colonel
Just got in touch with Charles from Gaep. One on the way. I have several others from him and they work great. |

I use a drill press and medium speed. A few moments to warm the plastic, gentle pressure downward and you get an excellent crimp. Paper hulls do not require heating to soften up the hull. Any hand crank tool will work fine. I have several and all work with paper hulls. Not all plastic hulls redily take to roll crimping. Federal Field hulls and the ribbed Winchesters for example, do not cooperate. However, Fiochi and Cheddites seem to just love roll crimping. So if I were you, I'd use the powered tool.Even a cordless drill works very well. |

I received the gaep roll crimp yesterday and it makes great crimps. Today I got the old hand crank type. It makes ok crimps, may just need a little practice. They are easily cleaned up with the gaep and drill press. If I can find some paper hulls I will give it a whirl. I’m sure the hand one will work better on paper.’ |
