I know the condition of the gun has a lot to do with it but, what’s a guy expect to pay for a standard weight Browning auto 5 solid rib?

I’m watching a few on gunbroker.

Being a duck hunter the sweet is of less interest to me.

Thanks.

As you stated, condition matters greatly. I was able to pick one up locally about 5 years ago for $375. The barrel was a Sweet 16 Solid Rib IC barrel with a spotless bore on a 1956 standard frame. Wood was in decent shape but the metal finishes were poor. I replaced all the springs and it runs well.

$300 and up would be a fair price for a 16ga standard shooter with a really nice condition example bringing quite a bit more. Watch out for the old ones (pre-WWII) that haven't been converted to handle 2 3/4" shells. Also, as you probably know, the Belgian A5s aren't recommended for steel shot.
