I’m new to the site and this is my first post. I have not mastered posting pics but I can email or text them. I was looking for a BPS 16ga and had these boxes to barter with. Luckily I was able to get the gun I needed and now these are available. Thought I would test the waters here for any interest. Both wooden ammo boxes with plain corners, not dovetail and are the 500 ct. I wasn’t sure if this should go here, the general forum or “for sale”.

1) Western Xpert 16ga, 2 9/16in
2) Western Super X 16ga 2 3/4in

$80 shipped for one or both for $150 shipped to lower 48.

Thanks

Thanks for the post and although I am not a likely buyer for your boxes, I am intrigued by them. Do they perchance indicate the load, e.g., 1 oz, or 1 1/8 oz, etc?

And yes, these posts generally go in the For Sale page but a warm welcome to the site.

TIA
B.

Thanks. Yes, they have the additional markings.
The 2 9/16 Xpert has 2 1/2 - 1 - 5 stamped in one corner and X655 in the other.

The 2 3/4 Super X has 1 1/8 - 6 stamped in one corner and S636 in the other.

So I would guess the Xpert is a 1 ounce load and the Super X is 1 1/8.

WI Fowler,
Thank you for the details, very interesting view of 16 ga ammo. Kind of what still seems to be the standard here - 1 oz for ordinary use and 1 1/8 oz for extra poke. It covers most all upland bird hunting needs as well as ducks. Geese, turkey, cranes, etc probably deserve a little more payload.

Welcome to the site!
Do the boxes have the original lids? I have a Remington Express box with dovetail corners but the lid isn't original and unfortunately its from a 12 ga load Crying or Very sad Always wondered if it has any value.

I have several other 16ga boxes(Peters, Ajax and another Super X). These are just two that don’t have any sentimental meaning and I would be willing to part with. I thought I would try and price inline with what I could find on EBay, but they seemed to be all over the place.
I don’t have any lids for any of my shot shell boxes, but I do have a 10,000 round .22LR wooden box with the lid and hardware store label.
I would also entertain a swap for a wooden 28ga or 10ga ammo box. Not too particular on any one brand.
