Made it out for a few hours on opener with my 1939 Auto 5. Dogs did well went 2 for 2 on roosters and got three Huns with two shots.

Nice job!!

Opening day I saw a few roosters but my young dog did not handle them right. Sunday I couldn't hit myself in the butt with both hands but my GSP May did a nice job. Monday my young GSP handled a running rooster well and ended with a pinned bird and a nice point and I only pulled the trigger once.

Marty with his first (my first too) ND rooster.

FYI #5 bismuth 1 1/8 oz. load. More than enough, I am thinking #6's in the future.

Beautiful pictures and that Browning looks really good for an 80+ year old gun. Congrats on a great hunt.

Thanks John, I recently refinished an extra stock set and put it on this gun. The original is in pretty tough shape.

Nice job for the young dog and nice to reward the work.

Good Hunting,

The last picture with the dog coming through good looking bird cover sure makes me want to get started . . . . . . Gotta wait another couple of weeks. . . . .

Those birds on the ground with the dogs don't help either . . .

Good job.

Mike

Left work at noon today to chase some roosters. It was over way too fast, I was done in about an hour and a half. I used the ‘39 again and went 3 for 3. Dogs were excellent. I just wish they would take a decent picture after the hunt

Nice pictures. Little jealous I haven’t been able to get out yet. Hopefully next week.

Great hunts, and photos, thanks for sharing. My Griffon Maggie has always been the same way on "trophy" shots, she absolutely hates them and always looks away or down.

Great day for opener in Idaho! If I could figure out how to post a pic I would. Beautiful day, even though a little warm but good birds.
I have the photo thing loaded but don't know from there.
