I've got a late November pheasant trip on the books planned for So Dak. Watching the COVID-19 rates increasing there and wondering what to do. We'll be flying, masking and likely eating take-out. Pheasant outlook is good. Should we put off until next year? |

I went elk hunting in New Mexico last month. In early November, I’m headed to Ks to bow hunt deer and hunt pheasants.
Your call on what you want to do. I’m 69, in very good health. Who knows how many more hunting season I’ll have. I don’t plan to miss any of them. |

Southwest Idaho pheasant season starts Sat.! Went chukar and hun hunting last Tuesday. A lot of work and climbing for 1 red legged devil bird, but felt good to get out.
I am 70 (sneaking up on 71) and I do not plan on missing any day to hunt. Virus be DAMNED! Hunting is great social distancing.
Good luck hunting to all this season.

Sporting Days,
Leaving tomorrow for the UP to Grouse hunt, will not cancel my trip. 70 plus years old and recovering from open heart surgery, will keep a distance from others in the nice log cabin we have rented.
Each individual must make his own decision as to his hunting opportunities, and how dangerous this Chinese Virus happens to be.
Where we are going in the UP there will be very few people.

We cancelled our Kansas pheasant hunt this year.
Plenty to keep us busy here.
Quail hunt Saturday, dove the middle of next week
Ducks/geese don't start till the middle of Nov but rabbit and squirrel are open now.
Don't do deer but that is in there too.
I am high risk, my wife a little less. My daughter has enough challenges without worrying about Covid and family beats hunting in our house.
If it comes, it comes. If it don't, it don't. Play the hand we are dealt.

Hell no, just be safe. We never know if we’ll get a “next year”. |

I went on a group trip to SD the last week in September and would go again tomorrow.
At age 71 I take reasonable precautions but refuse to just sit at home. |

Nope. Not spending time in Maine with friends this fall but that has nothing to do with the current scare. I'll still be in northern and central PA for a few weeks in the coming days. |

No way I'd cancel my SD hunting. That's how I socially distance. |

I am going after ruffed grouse this season instead of our ND pheasant trip. Our accommodations are not working out and could not find a place to fit our time and place. Next year. |

I have a short duration trip next week. Three of us are going. We are driving separate trucks and will camp apart, but will hunt behind our dogs together. Gil |

I've pretty much bagged everything for the season. I don't have camping capabilities so all my trips involve hotels, restaurants, et al. My wife has a lot of health issues and she's said "If you get it I'll get it and I doubt I'll survive." Forgive me if I've posted that quote from her before, but when someone you love says that to you it puts things in a different perspective. I've shot a lot of birds in my life; hopefully I'll have the opportunity to shoot a lot more. Just not this year... |
