Okay. I have been absent (online burnout), but here are a few from my recent run to Nevada. Shot a pair of Himalayan snowcock with the 12 and after enjoying those for a couple dinners, went back at it and shot two more with the 16 C&H. Anyway, I promise to get around to posting again in the future.

My setter Birch tore his ACL the second day of the season in the driveway of our camp. So I spent a lot of time with my 7 month old pup hunting without a gun. He got familiar with the woods and by seasons end he had pointed a double on grouse. Those shots always seem easier when you don’t have to mount a gun, but I wish I would have had the chance.

Good Hunting,
Mike

A new covert and we moved 12 grouse in 90 minutes feeding on crab apple trees along the field edges:

And last a sign I enjoyed from a fellow Marine that I don’t know. We did have good luck hunting the covert that is adjacent to his camp:

This is my grandson Mason with his first buck ever. He has taken three doe the last 2 yrs. I had put him in the local big buck contest for the youth hunt this past week end. It took 5th place out of about 75 entry's. All the kids won some thing. I will try to post that pic. as well. Scored 125.

Every day in the woods with the setter is a pleasure. Add a nice gun and a few birds in the bag and I feel very fortunate.

Thanks guys for all the pics. keep them coming.
Our regular deer season starts Sat. the 14th. The youth season was Oct.31 and Nov. 1.
I'm not able to walk long enough to pheasant hunt anymore but I can get to a deer stand that is with in 300 yds. of the hunting shack.

All the best to every one.

Here's hoping for many more years of birdguns and fine trails to walk.
