I am trying to put together some upland 1oz. field loads for my old Parker and early A5. Both have 2.5" chambers. I have Cheddite hulls, BP and Rem wads and Universal Clays, International Clays, Green Dot and a middling amount of Universal. Does anyone have any advice or information to lend? The barrels are fluid steel, not damascus.

Best loads for 2.5” chedite bpsport wad, universal both 3/4 and 7/8 oz on Hodgdon web site now. I have shot over 1000 of those loads.
Also you can roll crimp 2 3/4 1 oz load cut hull to 2.5 and roll same recipe.
Get the link for 24hrcamp list from last post after yours.
I prefer 7/8 oz 2 1/2 loads in my old 1900-1930s European guns but 1150 FPS 1 oz loads are ok on great wood. |
