It's more fun doing the work myself

I would agree if I had a pressure barrel. Seems like there should be a straightforward way to modify a barrel for crusher beads by drilling and tapping a test port at the chamber. Translating CUPs to PSI can be accomplished with available data tables.
Or maybe bonding a piezo sensor around the chamber might be better, and calibrating it with known charges should be able get within 5 percent. It wouldn't permanently disfigure the barrel either. I even know what gun I would use. Piezo sensor data controllers for PCs are available on ebay at very low prices, you don't need gigabit data rates. The whole setup shouldn't come to more than $100.
A simpler setup might even be feasible using something like Plastigage inside the chamber.
A guy could get really carried away with this kind of stuff.

Can you post a picture of the federal wads please
|
Well, I thought I could, but haven't figured out how. So, I emailed you a picture of the box and a picture of the wads. Hard to tell by the pic, but the cups are a light purple. |

Brewster11,
Here is my take. I want to measure apples to apples.
The reason is, I do all the work and then the only one that can use it is me, because you aren't measuring to the same standard if you aren't using the same measuring system.
For the few loads that I want to develop, it is much cheaper, efficient and more accurate to just send the loads off to be tested.
......and I can share them. |
