Gentlemen,

Now if you are shooting a 16 gauge double gun and you love it, there was a 14 gauge #0 double gun special made and shipped to the Simmons Hardware, in St Louis, Mo. in 1899, SN # 3643, just think about owning that part of Classic L.C. Smith double gun history, to go along with any pre 13, 16 gauge L.C. Smith guns you might already own.

Many people do not believe this gun was ever produced, however it really was made and shipped to the Simmons Hardware Company in 1899, the only 14 gauge double gun L.C. Smith ever made supposedly. Like the one 00 28 gauge, it is a part of the L.C. Smith Legend and does exist. Further the XX & XXX guns have never been fully accounted for, along with the executive guns that were never recorded in the Hunter Arms L.C. Smith inventory. The Legend Lives.

14 Gauge L.C. Smith No. 0, would you not love to own it!

skeet tx,

I have never seen any pictures of the 14 gauge L.C. Smith, it would be nice to see it for sure. I did hear Bill Brophy and my Grandfather talking about it being made on a 20 gauge frame when I was a boy, they both knew the gun existed. Can you imagine owning it! S.W. Read took possession of the gun when delivered to the Simmons Hardware Company. Love to know if the gun still exist, and who owns it.

Dave's 14g is the single 14 gauge OE, serial number 3643, which was shipped August 28, 1899 to Simmons Hardware executive S.W. Read

ANOTHER was a typo in the 1902 Supplee Hardware catalog; a A2 Variation 2 illustration

The error was corrected in the 1904 catalog
