Wondering if anyone has used these loads and has a comment or two about them. I picked up a flat of them some years ago, but I've never used any of them.

I imagine they are the same as the Federal 1 oz loads.

I shot a couple cases of those on rabbits out of my old Western Arms and they were great! Your equating them to Fed 1oz is an accurate assessment.

With 2.5 dram eq. and 1165 fps, I'm not sure why Estate refers to them as "Heavy" game loads????? They would appear to be what I would normally shoot at quail and doves, rather than a tough bird like a pheasant. If these are "heavy," what is a load such as a Fiocchi Golden Pheasant load? Super, Mach 1, turbocharged magnum????

Jason, thanks! They seem like a perfect rabbit load.

4setters, I do agree with what you've said. They would be fine for general small game, but for pheasants I want to know I have hard shot and just a bit more velocity. If they were 7.5's I'd use them on grouse.

I think I'll sell try to sell the flat. It will have to be local because shipping would be a killer.

I've used those loads or the Federal equivalent on early season chukar and huns and they've worked fine, however, I've purposely not used them on pheasants for the same reasons pointed out!

I would think that if they will kill a rabbit , they would certainly kill a pheasant .

While I don't have much experience with pheasant hunting . My 1150 fps #6 Niceshot load will kill large ducks out 35 yards with no problem .

Seems to me those loads would at the very least be a good for the right barrel .

Yes, they are exactly the same as the Federal version, at least they were as of a few years ago. They both use the same "post and cup" old style wad, and same hull. Powder looks the same too.

As for being "heavy", not sure what is going on there. It's a standard 20 gauge load. Federal has always made much more powerful loads for 16 gauge too.

As for the speed, that's not the problem. Personally I'd much rather have 1 1/4 oz or even 1 3/8 oz at 1100 fps, rather than 1 1/8 oz at 1300 fps. I'd just use a bigger size shot if it didn't penetrate like I wanted.

Ya, he's about an hour away, and I need to pick up a .22 at a gunsmith about halfway there, so it worked out very well.

Ive never used any of their 16 but hae shot plenty of the 20 GA with excellent results. I always assumed that they were made by federal simply because the boxes are exactly the sane. Folded and Glued on the bottom.Id like to know if they have a paper base wad on the 16 s. Right now they seem to be far more available here in FL than any other brand. Wife goes through a lot of them on the Claly course.
