How hard is it to find a used 16 MEC Jr, a bag of 1 ounce wads, and 250 or so good hulls ?

I'm loving the old 16 this year!!! I may buy me another one in 16 gauge !!!

I have shot, powder and primers.

I'm at the point of having to buy shells, when I can find a few, or load some.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thank you

“May” be a problem?
I’d say will be a problem.

OP stated he has "shot, powder, primers" when he posed his question.

I looked for wads today...

Plan to look for hulls this pm...

If I can secure the wads and hulls I will then try to locate or borrow a loader....

Thank you for the ideas...

Edit.....

Forget this route....

It's crazy.... Everything thing is sold out....

I should have done my looking prior to posting...

I pray times get better....

If you can find wads, I can most likely spare a few hundred hulls to get you started, for the price of shipping.

Graf's show several Claybuster wads in stock. 16'er made a generous offer for hulls. Sounds like you're all set.

Ballistic Products has SG16 in stock.

https://www.ballisticproducts.com/mobile/SG16-Sporting-16ga-wads-250_bag/productinfo/072SG16/

Precision Reloading has multiple 16ga wads in stock.

https://www.precisionreloading.com/cart.php#!c=14&ga=16%20Gauge&s=in

No excuses now.😉

Edit: Not sure why the PR link doesn't go directly to the wads but they do have them.

With the current regime in DC, times are never going to get better.

I’ve RGLs and some straight wall cases as well. Let me know.

Heartwarming the generosity & camaraderie of this forum.

Splitting hairs, but, with all things considered and a nod toward conserving powder inventory, the RGL's* by and large require less powder (due to smaller ID) than "straight walled" hulls a for a given load weight. If agreeing with this lean the CB/RGL combo would be my suggestion.

Now you need to do your homework on available recipes for the available components.

NOTE* FWIW; RGL's are straight as well, only the Win Comp's and Active's are tapered but these 3 hulls require the same wads due to similar smaller ID's.

Welcome to reloading the 16ga, fun stuff

Some unsolicited advice. Avoid the Ballistic product 16 ga manual. The data is useless.
