That does look much better, although I'm surprised they didn't offer the straight grip as an option, especially since most of these are being used as upland guns. It's not like it would take much effort for them to just straighten the stock. Even so, well done Browning. |

I am hearing from local dealers that the rounded stock was a limited production for shot show (even though it was cancelled). Has anyone else heard this? |

The Browning website says it is a current limited production model. |

Has anyone checked to see if you can just get the new lightning stock? |

I can see by the number of positive posts that this is a popular stock option for the A5. I have to say I just don't like it. Compared to the linear, sharp, clean profile of the fore end the buttstock looks like it was from another gun. The flutes are poorly laid out and the top and bottom rounded toe and heel look out of place. There is absolutely no line to that stock. I agree that a straight grip with good lines would be much better.

Woe, I can now say that maple stocks are not for me. |

Has anyone checked on ordering one of these Lightning models. I called Reeds and Kjergaards up here in MN and they both told me these are on order but it could be this fall before they see them. I'm just curious if anyone has had success getting one of these in other parts of the country. |

I have one, Canadian dealers already have theirs....was my understanding they've already done the run of standard Sweet Sixteen Lightnings. Isn't it the maple and high grades that come out later?
I'm very happy with mine! |

Nice piece of wood. Both dealers told me they are waiting for the lightning grade and it might be fall before they see them. Apparently that isn’t true with Canadian dealers. |
