well , another day in the life . Molly is 13 today , doing OK , been retired from bunnies for a yr or 2 . Still can spot ears a mile away ! Highlight of the day will be vanilla cake and a pig ear Laughing Laughing . Can watch the Buffalo Bills later .... Been overly warm for 12 months , are running a 30'' snow deficit , but it's keeping the squirrels out and busy ! easier to shoot some trap and skeet in spite of the covid , which is spiking heavily here !

Please allow me to wish the ol' gal a happy birthday and many more as well.

For me, there is no higher a position of honor in my family than a retired hunting dog.

Happy Birthday Molly!

We have a 13 year old Molly also but she’s a pit mix. Or a “pot locker” as my uncle calls non-hunting dogs.

Happy Birthday, Molly!

My very first dog, a Lab/Irish Setter cross was born on this very day in 1973. She was a fine duck/upland dog, and I could write a book on our adventures.

This is myself and "Skip" back in the fall of 1975 when I was a junior in high school. She could get 'r done.

Looks like you were able to “get r done” as well Dave. That’s a great memory. Thanks for sharing.

Ruff Hunter,

I agree 100% sir, there is no higher position in our dogs home, than a retired Grouse Dog! I have lost many dogs down thru the years to old age, most of mine live to be around 18 years old, they are cared for that well. I have a old Ryman Setter right now, 11 years old very soon, he has his good and bad days, needs his meds every day now. Pine Creek Heston is one of my prize dogs and has earned his place at the top of the food chain here at Pine Creek Grouse Dog Trainers. He has also helped train lots of Grouse dog pups, unfortunately even those days are behind him now.

Happy birthday Molly, and all the best,

Pine Creek/Dave

I sure didn’t intend to steal Molly’s limelight here. I just always remember my first dog’s birthday, and she and the memories have been on my mind today like they are every year on January 16.
