Found a keg of Winchester Super Handicap (WSH) at the club, anyone have any luck using the stuff? I’m mostly interested in 1 oz loads.
TIA

I did not find any loads in 16 gauge. I'm guessing you have done your search also. Looks like Hodgdon only has loads with WSH in 12 gauge and 20, and in WW-AA hulls. BPI lists some loads in 12 ga. This powder seems to be in the Green Dot, International area, burn rate wise, maybe edging toward Unique, Universal territory, but only slightly. Hodgdon only shows it for 3/4 oz in the 20, for instance, but up to 1 1/8 oz in the 12, for which it was apparently designed. No doubt one could use it for 1 ounce loads in the 16. I know how I would go about that, and probably you do too, but I'm not giving myself the liberty to advise you. Good find on the powder. I would have enjoyed finding WSH also. |

I would think that 1 oz. loads be in the 1100 - 1150 FPS range with WSH.....but I bet you could get a 7/8 oz. load to go 1200 -1250 FPS.
Food for thought. |

Yes agree Mark. Unfortunately I am accustomed to using 1250 FPS loads, and whenever I switch to 1100 FPS loads it feels like I’m merely lobbing a heavy stone at targets.
