No connection to seller or gun.
Assuming short chambers, tight chokes. Option for a rainy day gun as is, or summer restro project. Maybe a starter double for a younger shooter? Was surprised not to see it sell on the first listing. |

Let us know the full details when you take delivery! I was close to getting it myself, but really need to sit on my hands after the last month or so. Glad you got it at the opening bid! |

I definitely got what I paid for. Should have asked for more pictures, but its going to be cool project and bad weather gun. Very heavy stock compared to ones I have. I am going to take the butt plate off and check for weights. |

That sling mechanism is surely heavier than even the best French walnut. (Manufrance used local wood, stuff that would get premium prices here.) Also, be careful because there are springs involved and disassembly could get ugly. IIRC, inside it's something like an automatic fly reel or a retractable dog leash, with a long piece of spring steel wound around the axle making a spring.
You were fortunate in getting the "Napoleon's Hat", the brass fixture at the end of the sling which makes for easy attach-detach to the hook underneath the barrels*. The vast majority of those have gone missing at one time or another (worn-out leather to blame). When there's a need to replace them they are both devilishly hard to find and expensive when you do.
* Yet another instance of French Design, where no one copies the French and the French copy no one. |

This will make my third one in 16. It is a good bit heavier than the others on the stock end. I am definitely glad the clasp and strap were still in it and function just fine. I will have to sow the two pieces of leather back together, but no biggie. Ducks and turkeys will hate it all the same |
