The gun is indeed marked 2 & 4 mod full but it measures IM & f a trip to the patterning board should clarify that one way or the other. Great to read about Grandfathers gun being passed down . Refreshing to see in this nutty world today. Thanks for all the help. Regards BB

I have one of these. I paid $500 for it two years ago in the "cobby" kind of condition that requires some refurbishing... so by today's standards, you did pretty well for your money.

These are solid little guns. The weight varies a bit, mine is well under 6 lbs. with 28" barrels, also marked 2 & 4. I don't hesitate at all to use 1 oz. loads in mine and it is a nice light gun for steep country when I am hunting chukars...already tired from previous outings.

I got to shoot the Lefever today on some starlings around the farm . What a great old gun it shoots where I point it and the patterns are superb .3/4 oz # 8 Fed primers and cases unique powder . This 85 year old gun in 85% plus condition and American made not to far from where I live in Ontario . Now the quest for a 16 gauge mate.
