So I am jumping head-first into the BOSS shotshell craze. Here in California, we have to hunt with nontoxic ammo for everything -- from doves to deer -- so I have ordered a few cases of the copper-plated Bismuth loads for the 16 gauge in #7s, #5s, and #3s.
I really appreciate that such a new company run by the younger -- dare I say hipster -- generation is making so many ammunition offerings for the 16 gauge -- in beautiful purple hulls no less! We'll see how they all work out this season in the field but super happy with the product selection and customer service so far. |

I can’t wait to hear your opinion, a buddy is using them in 20 gauge and really likes them. Being as there price per shell is close to what I could load bismuth 16 gauge with shot from rotometals myself they are definitely intriguing. |

Used them all last year. Loved them!
Shot a lot of pheasants and even a couple of ducks in the pond on the WMA.
Funny, game warden thought he has me when he saw me in blaze with a pheasant tail sticking out each side and carrying a duck. He actually thanked me for using bismuth since the WMA I was hunting was close to water.

WA St is leaning heavily toward making non-tox shot mandatory for all shotshell hunting, on it;s way to including centerfire rifles. so it's nice to see a company making shells that are acceptable and reasonably priced. Otherwise I'd think the politicians were just using the No-Lead laws as a means of preventing hunting and one more reason to delete the second amendment. |

I shoot them out of my 16 & 28's. Great shells. No issues functioning & in my gun great patterns. |

The combination of ammo shortages and the nontoxic hunting requirement has turned acquiring ammunition -- or loading it yourself -- into a full-time occupation. This is especially true for the 16 gauge, where nontoxic shells can be very hard to find.
I will say that the nontoxic options, offerings and performance improve every year with new companies like BOSS coming on the scene and even the traditional ammo companies -- Federal, Winchester, etc. -- expanding their nontoxic lines. |

I'll
I'll stay with lead. Not toxic until it's heated over 800 degrees. Hen it gasses off. Regardless how you handle it. You still don't want to lock you fingers. |

Great shells! Call and order them with fiber wads if you need lower pressure ammo |

I use 5's for pheasant and even got a few ducks. Used 7's for quail.

Thanks Bob.
Question for 67galaxie.
Would those lower-pressure fibre wad shells be safe to shoot in vintage guns with 2 3/4 chambers? Right now, planning to shoot BOSS only in my modern guns but if they could work well in my vintage L.C. Smith or Sterlingwortth that would be fantastic. |

5's in the 16 for ducks & 7's & 5's in the 28. I limit the range in the 28 where I feel confident in the 7's for small ducks. Have shot bismuth 4's & 3's out of the 16 too. Great all around duck load. The 4's were Environ loads though. |

I like them.
I used the standard #5s on sharptails last fall.
This year I ordered a hundred #7s with the fiber wads at lower speed. I haven't patterned them yet, but I'm thinking they'll be a good sharptail load out of an IC choke. |
