It was a breeding Bruce was involved with, yes. The pups were up here in Utah and I was fortunate to spend some time with them. That litter was stacked.
T's Hidden Grace was the dam. She is a Southern Grace X EH Shamrock cross.

I would post a picture but it's a pain going through an image host.

Those pups should be first-rate.

Really nice pup Mark , a lot of Irish names in his breeding hope he brings you a lot of luck on your hunts together , my brother and me did a bit of the Wild Atlantic Way a few years ago on our motorcycles if anyone is over here I would highly recommend doing a few miles of it ,
Hope you and Nigel have many happy years together.
Thanks for letting us see him WJ.

Handsome little feller. May there be many victorious meetings between Nigel and the nefarious Devil Birds.

WYOChukar,

Here in Pa we accept Ruffed Grouse as God's favorite game bird creation. However may of us view wild Chukar as devil birds, when younger I hunted them for the customary revenge. I do hope Nigel developers into both a great Devil bird dog and one of Gods great Grouse dog.

all the best,

It takes a very special dog to become a great Grouse dog here in our Pa mountains.
Pine Creek Ripper our male Gordon Grouse dog, with one of his many Pa Ruffed Grouse. God made Ripper a very talented natural Grouse dog, he never pointed a planted bird in his entire life. He would walk up to them and piss all over them, released or in a holding cage. His prior owner tried to make a FT dog out of him, it ended in disaster. The trainers had no idea the talent the dog actually possessed for setting Grouse, for his master. We shot lots of wild Grouse over him, he lived to be almost 18 years old, I still miss him even today. We had a very special bond, he would do things for me that he never did for any other master, one incredible Black & Tan Grouse dog. No doubt he is waiting for me at the Gates of heaven.

Pine Creek - when people say a Gordon is a one-man dog, they speak truly. They really are.
18 is a long, long life for a dog of any breed, and especially a setter. You were fortunate to get that.
And I am sure my Gordons are waiting for me on the other side, too.

DaveinMaine,

I was very fortunate to have Ripper for a long time, my female lived almost as long and hunted till she was almost 14, Penny was a smaller dog and maybe the best Gordon Grouse dog I will ever own. Shadow my Gordon pup is doing well, this will be her 2nd season, if she turns out to be half the Grouse dog Penny was, I will have another world class Grouse dog. Penny and Ripper wait for me at the Gates of heaven, I have no doubt. Man I miss them badly.

all the best,

Pine Creek/Dave

Pine Creek Penny with one of her many many Grouse. I have raised and hunted behind many good Grouse dogs, few were any where near as incredible as Penny.
