Griffon,
Depending on when the $150.00 gun was purchased it could have been a decent high quality gun. Now today the $150.00 gun is probably not very high quality, in early 1900, that $150.00 gun would be a very high quality gun. Learning to shoot correctly is always a requirement for any hunter, no matter the era. I agree shoot what you like and can afford to purchase, purchase the highest quality gun you can afford to own.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave

Griffon,
Got to agree the $150.00 modern times does not get you much of a gun, unless somebody is doing you a big favor. I also agree experience and training make all the difference in the world when using a gun, no matter the cost. However IMO a man should purchase the best quality gun he can afford.
all the best,
Pine Creek/Dave
