Called all of my usual compadres and none are available (my fault for waiting too long and not planning something earlier). With all the growth here, all my old spots are either over-run or no longer available. I was tempted to pay a fee and go shoot there but it just wouldn't be the same. Maybe next year. |

Dave, this is not an official cancellation. This is unofficial due to weather. Compliments of Ida.
Kinda my sick, tongue in cheek humor. |

Liberals and conservatives here had a good day- shot a limit in an hour then got to watch a new pup learn about guns and feathers and flapping wings. Ida left us with a nice north wind and clearing skies:) |

Liberals and Conservatives in the conservative state of South Carolina will be heading to the Dove Fields together Saturday. We expect that the only bloodshed will be that of Doves (the winged ones)! |

Typical mid-week opener here in Idaho: Not enough people out to move the birds around. I think we're shooting resident birds. The winters haven't been cold enough to move them out.
In any case, I shot poorly, and should have moved to a different position sooner. I don't think I could have gotten a limit if I killed all the birds I saw, and I only hit a small percentage of the birds I shot at.
Every hunt now, I have to wonder if it's my last. |
