does 1/4 oz make?
After working out a soft shooting load I'm now told I can't get all the bits for it.
Am thinking of going back to old set up but decreasing the load from 1oz to 3/4oz, the speed will remain the same ie. 1200fps. (I hope?).
Gun weighs 5 1/4lbs, give or take.
Thanks in advance. |

1/4 oz. shot payload change in a shotshell load is a very significant change.
The velocity will increase when you decrease the the shot payload, quessing 50 to 100 FPS.
However that is such a large change that the load might suffer some consistency issues.
A better move might be something like ........ drop the payload to 7/8 oz. and drop the powder amount by 1 to 1.5 grains and give it a try.
If you have a chronograph it would be a big help. |
