I started a new job a couple weeks ago at Bath Iron Works. They are hiring. If you know someone who can weld, or who wants to learn to weld, or all the other things that go into building destroyers for the Navy, they are hiring. A lot of hiring.

Pay is good to excellent. Benefits are stunningly good (my health insurance costs $9 every two weeks and I get full coverage with my max out-of-pocket deductible and copay in the calendar year of $4100). The works is unionized with a good labor-management relationship. And those jobs aren't going anywhere.

Housing is a little tight and a little expensive the closer you get to the yard, but you get to live in Maine and that means you get to hunt and fish in Maine. They've sent hiring teams all over the country and are still looking for more.

You can find them on the web - google "gdbiw careers"

Dave very happy for you , I went through some employment issues last year when my old firm went into receivership and I took a nightshift job for a few months, then the old firm was bought over and I got my old job back on the brakepress doing what I know then covid hit and we were in lockdown just a few weeks after we got back to bus building, and our hunting season was curtailed by not being able to meet up , but we did manage a few socially distanced hunts , fast forward to this year and our work is mad looking welders and we have our Pheasants put out in the woods and I am really looking forward to hunting season, good to hear you are in a good place and I am sure you will get a few days in the woods and I always enjoy your posts and look forward to your adventures this coming season.
Good your fit to work and hunt happy days WJ.

Great day of dove hunting.
4 PM doves are flying west
5:15 doves are flying east

What fun, what fun.

Bruce and then went to Burger King for $5.00 Jr Special,
Two cokes, two burgers, and two fries or onion rings.

Then cleaned all the doves and now they ore soaking
for a day of two.

Just picked up another L.C. Smith pre 13, 16 gauge gun from down your way, at collectors Fire Arms in Texas.
