Anybody ever finish up fold crimp by running a roll crimp after.
My mec size master with short kit leaves ched hull a little lumpy around top edge, roll crimp die cleaned it up nice but was worried that square edge may cause pressure spike? Doesn’t happen (bad crimp)with RGL or Win comp hulls?

Jta5er: never used a roll crimp head, but I do use the gaep bin2 finish crimp. It will put a nice rounded edge on your shells. Never had a problem with any kind of pressure.

Ran some of the cheddites that were standard crimp then roll crimped to remove lumps. Backed down to 19gr universal and my 7/8 load ejected in my auto 5s on heavy setting with no recoil. I think with deep crimp and rolled edge it raises pressure just enough. I’m going to call it good and make a couple cases Very Happy

I have loaded 19 gr universal in regular roll crimped shells cut to 2 1/2 and they cycle also. I think you will be good to go

Yes the crimp ends on 2 1/2” Cheddites can sometimes come out lumpy, but fine tuning of MEC crimp starter and final crimp punch setting will eliminate the lumps without resorting to roll crimp finishing. Or you can simply leave them lumpy, as I have not noticed any effect one way or another on feeding, extraction, performance, or hull longevity.
