Hello, my LC Smith field grade 16 is in need of repair. I've tried to contact Jerry Andrews in W. Virginia by phone and have left messages but have received no reply. Does anyone know if he's still in business? Anyone know a competent LC Smith smith they would recommend? TIA

Try Bruce Farman (360) 692-4188. He is located in western WA state. Fixed my cocking nut problems on my LC Smith 12 ga.

Jerry is still in business, and posts on FB often--BUT, he is so wrapped up in his bluegrass band Crandall Creek, one of the hottest bluegrass bands, that he is often out of the shop for periods of time. I live pretty close to Jerry, and have known him for 30+ years.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll give Farman a call next week and see if he can help me out.

PeteM,

As you know I have more than a few 16 gauge L.C. Smith double guns. Please drop me a PM and let me know what the problem with your good gun actually is. My 16 gauge L.C. Smith guns get used very heavily, for both hunting and clays and I have never had a problem with any of my guns, I am interested in just what needs fixed on your L.C. Smith field grade 16 gauge gun. If you would include the SN so I can see what era the gun was made in, I would appreciate it.

all the best,

Pine Creek/Dave
L.C. Smith Man

Well I talked with Bruce on the phone in October and promptly sent him my LC Smith. I just called to check on the status and a female voice answered the phone, said I had the wrong number and promptly hung up - twice. Did I just lose my LC Smith? Anybody else know this guy?

Thanks for that email add. for Bruce Farman. I emailed him and he responded promptly. Not only that, but I received my 16 ga .back today and Bruce did a great job on it. Pine Creek/Dave, I can't find a PM. Thanks to all for the advice and to Bruce for a great job.

Wow, that's a fast turnaround. I took two guns to a local gunsmith in 2020. He still has them.
