Hello, I found a decent deal on some "Hevi Bismuth" from a private party. My 16ga guns are an old nickel steel Model 12 that has had it's chamber lengthened to 2-3/4", and a 1946 LC Smith (Marlin) sxs. The Model 12 is choked light mod and the Elsie is Imp. Cyl & Mod. I'm unfamiliar with "Hevi Bismuth", would it be safe to shoot in these older guns?

Thank you
Cliff

It is safe to use. I primarily use hevi bismuth for ducks in my Belgium Brownings. Hard to find this season. I would buy it up.

Thank you for your quick reply. I think I'll go for it. The seller has two boxes each of #2, 4 & 6. He's asking $40 per box. I can't find this stuff anywhere around my location (Seattle).

I bought a few boxes of Hevi Bismuth 2's and 4's a few years ago, for a Manitoba field hunt. They are listed at 1 1/8 oz at 1350ps. The weather was very hot and I didn't even shoot a box full in several says of hunting.
