Do 12, 16, and 20 gauge Winchester model 37s have the same size frame or does each gauge have its own frame size?

Steve , supposedly the 12/16 share a receiver size and the 20/28/410 a smaller one .

I have a Win 37 16 ga so if someone wants to post what aspects of the action I should measure for comparison to other gauges, I'd be happy to measure it.

I have the whole set, but have never compared. I will do my best to dig all out of the safes and eyeball them. Interesting question...

They've been heard saying they'd like to get out and go for a little pasture clays or a rabbit hunt.... Very Happy

Okay, the 12 and 16 appear to be the same. The 410 and 20 appear to be the same. The 28ga. Is missing. So I asked my wife . She loaned it to her sister. She thinks she loaned her a stevens mod 94 20 ga. I mentioned the value and how she loaned her the wrong damn gun. Should have it back by weekend... The saga continues.

Hopefully the sister didn't manage to shoot a 20 ga shell in it and that it comes back as good as it left.

Tell me, how do you shoot a 20ga shell in a 28ga gun?

Given a funnel and a big enough hammer anything is possible.

Got the 28 back. Hadnt been fired. It appears to be the same size as 410. Was all 28 ga. Mod 37 red letter guns?

It is my unsderstanding tht the red Letter 37s were from the first few years of production. So if the 28s were only made in the first year or two then they probably all would be ted Letter models but it would be a function of date rather than gauge.
